Drake Confirms the Return of OVO Fest at Toronto Raptors Championship Parade
After hinting at the possibility of his OVO Fest returning to action last August, Drake has confirmed that the annual star-studded event will indeed have a 2019 edition.

Speaking in Toronto's Nathan Phillips Square this afternoon as part of the Toronto Raptors NBA Championship parade, Drake invited the victorious team to keep the celebrations going throughout the summer.

"I hope that all these guys will join me this year, 'cause we're bringing OVO Fest back so I hope we can go crazy," he said. Β Drake revealed no other details about the upcoming OVO Fest, including when it could be taking place.

Still, plenty who had tuned into the day's proceedings could barely contain their excitement. Drake first hinted at a 2019 return for the event during a performance in Toronto last year. More recently, he made plans to set aside some tickets for Milwaukee Bucks owner Wes Edens' daughter Mallory, who famously wore a Pusha-T shirt courtside in an effort to troll the 6ix God. The Raptors ended up winning that playoff series four games to two, en route to becoming NBA champions.

Drake began hosting OVO Fest in 2010, with the event taking place in Toronto over the civic holiday/Caribana weekend each year until 2017. No announcement was made with regards to the festival in 2018.

The Weeknd, Eminem, JAY-Z, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Nas, J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar have all made guest appearances at past OVO Fests. Other NBA stars such as LeBron James and Kevin Durant have also attended the festival in past years.

The news comes after Drake took part in the day's championship parade, with highlights including cracking a cold one thrown to him by a fan in the crowd, and offering some candid words to the CBC after an impressive catch of the mic.
